The Best Steak Restaurant in Leamington Spa

What’s the best way to have a steak? Any way you like it. And that’s how we do it at Block Steakhouse Leamington Spa. You can find us in a Grade 2 listed building which was originally the Bedford Hotel and later Leamington & Warwick Bank, and then Barclays Bank. We still have the bank vault but only deal out delicious cocktails and sizzling steaks now. Treat yourself to a meal in our main restaurant or, no matter the weather, enjoy a bite to eat or a beverage out in our enclosed courtyard – with heating! We also have a small semi-private function room for those looking to host a business brunch or enjoy a special family lunch. Whatever the occasion, we pride ourselves on our food and drink. We’re famous for our hand-cut steak, cut as big as you like, and served just how you like it. We’ve also got experienced bartenders ready to shake + stir your cocktail of choice or pour you a wine or beer. There’s always something for everyone.

Our location

You’ll find Block Steakhouse Leamington Spa at Regency Arcade, in an impressive grade 2 listed building. Built around 1811 we were originally the site for the Bedford Hotel, designed by William Gascoyne, and the very first hotel in Leamington Spa. After this it became a bank for Leamington & Warwick Bank and in later years was home to Barclays Bank. We still have the bank vault but sadly no money was left. We’re perfectly situated for tourists and locals alike who are looking to enjoy one of the UK’s happiest places to live. For those in search of entertainment, we’re just a short walk from The Royal Spa Centre, the Assembly Rooms and Victoria Park. For families, or big kids, we’re close to Warwick Castle and a historical day out at Stoneleigh Abbey or Kenilworth Castle. And those looking for idyllic walking spots will love Jephson Gardens and the wider British countryside that is right on our doorstep.

Our team

Our front of house team at Block Steakhouse Leamington Spa look forward to welcoming you and serving up our famous steaks, hand cut to any size and cooked to order. They’re a passionate bunch with an in-depth understanding of all things steak and wine. Over at our bar we have expert mixologists ready to help you unwind with a signature cocktail or two! So just let us know if you have any questions, even if it’s about the city itself, and we’ll be happy to help and to make recommendations.

Chef’s choice

Our Kitchen team recommends a 12oz Ribeye, which they consider to be one of our best cuts, which is spiral filleted and marinated in chimichurri overnight for a more in depth flavour. This is served simply with triple cooked chips and a rocket side salad – leaving room for a delicious dessert (or maybe another cocktail).

Chef’s choice home recipe

Our choice of home recipe would be Trash Can Nachos - a simple but very delicious dish that all the family can enjoy as a sharing plate or you can enjoy all by yourself.

● Bake tortilla wraps in the oven until toasted and cut up into 8 equal triangles

● Add tomato salsa, grated cheese and fresh chilli. Pop it back in the oven to melt the cheese.

● To assemble, stack and on alternative layers add sour cream, guacamole and more cheese.

● Top it off with coriander (if that’s your thing) and more fresh chilli and cheese if you have some left over.

● For that extra special touch, why not try adding chilli con carne or melted cheese sauce.

Supporting the community

As well as fundraising for Whitbread’s chosen charity, Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, some of our team members volunteer for Helping Hands. Supporting the local Soup kitchen. We look forward to being able to join forces with our local community and will be looking for partnerships soon. Please get in touch if you’d like us to work together and support your cause.
